I made my first **real** book!

With the help of this tutorial http://dianealdred.com/how/ I leaned how to make my first real *bound* book today!  I have to admit I was very intimidated by the stitching, but once I started doing it..eaaaasy!  It looks so nice when done!  I can't wait to decorate it up and maybe go buy some lined paper for the next one!  So much fun!  Here are my results...don't be afraid, give it a whirl!!  More books to come, this was alot of fun!
Have a great day!!  Craft it up!

  2. Thanks so much, Diane! Yours were so beautiful, I had to give it a shot! Now I'm trying to learn the exposed spine one! That one looks scary but I will try it out!

  3. Coptic binding? It's fiddly but looks good! The one I find the most difficult (and end up with hands resembling a well used pin cushion) is the Secret Belgian Binding. Too many pieces to hold in place and then sew together - drove me nuts - which is why I only ever tried to make two of them!
    Good luck!

  4. LOL Ok tried the Coptic binding one..seemed ok except I think I lost my mind at the end a few times and didn't remember what to do..then got to the end and made this ugly loop instead of a real ending knot...oooops! I don't think I'll be trying the other one you mentioned..this one was enough for me for now. At least I'm learning and it is relaxing to me (between finger pricks and sailor swearing!) but hey no one hears that!
